Hospitality

Scripture calls the Church “the family of believers.” Whether folks are visiting Redeemer for the first time, or have been part of the community for years, our desire is to make sure everyone is treated as family. Our Hospitality team is committed to offering smiles and a warm greeting to each person who walks through our doors. The team also helps organize and serve at church events such as our yearly Pentecost party.

Redeemer Kids

Jesus told his disciples, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them.”  Children do not need to grow into adults to be fully included in the life of God’s family, the Church. That is why our children’s volunteers commit to facilitating a developmentally appropriate process of guided discovery and discipleship for every child in our Redeemer Kids ministry.

Altar Guild

Redeemer is committed to worshipping the Lord in the beauty of holiness. One of the primary ways we worship is by receiving Holy Communion each week. The Altar Guild offers a sacred ministry of quiet service by preparing the altar for our Sunday worship. In this way each team member helps set the tone of worship for the parish and facilitates a spirit of prayer and holiness at Redeemer.

Prayer

The Apostle Paul encouraged that “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.” Every week members and friends of Redeemer share their prayer requests with us, and every week we pray for them. The Prayer team faithfully presents the needs of our parish before God and offers thanks for all the prayers God has answered.

Music

Scripture admonishes us to “sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.” Whether by singing a modern worship song or leading an ancient Psalm chant, our Music team aims to worship Almighty God through musical excellence, to encourage the people of Redeemer, and to help draw them into a musical response of worship in light of who God is and what he has done.

Tech

The book of Psalms encourages us to “play skillfully” in our worship. Skillful worship includes not only performance skill, but also the technological skill necessary to support our entire worship service. The Tech team sets up and tears down the sound equipment we use, records the Sunday sermon, and posts the sermon to our website.

Lectors

Scripture exhorts, “devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture.” At Redeemer we take this call seriously. Every week we read a passage from the Old Testament, the Psalms, the New Testament, and the Gospels. Our team of Lectors help the parish hear God’s word clearly and contribute to its ongoing conversion and mission by proclaiming the sacred Scripture during our service.

Sunday Set-Up

The Church is a people, not just a building. Yet human beings are aesthetic creatures, and our environment influences our worship. A beautiful space that has been intentionally set aside for worshipping God can help direct our hearts and minds Godward. The Sunday Set-Up team’s goal is to create a sacred space by setting up the sanctuary in a way that aids our adoration of God.
