Children’s Ministry Training

Serve with Redeemer Kids

Thank you for your interest in serving on our Children’s Ministry Team!

In order to be appropriately trained and screened to work with our children, we ask that you complete the five steps below. It will take time to complete all of these requirements, and you do not need to finish them all at once, or in a particular order.

Step 1: Policy Manuals

Please read through the appropriate policy manual for the age group you intend to volunteer with.

Step 2: MinistrySafe Training

MinistrySafe Sexual Abuse Awareness Training equips volunteers to understand the facts and misconceptions related to child sexual abuse, including basic characteristics of an abuser, the grooming process of the offender, and key indicators of child sexual abuse.

This training consists of a series of informational videos followed by a quiz, and needs to completed every two years.

Sign up for your training at the link below.

Step 3: Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

Our diocese, Churches for the Sake of Others (C4SO), has provided this Sexual Harassment Prevention Training to help us treat one another with honor and respect, and strengthen our culture of respect and goodness.

This training needs to be completed annually.

Step 4: Live Scan Background Check

We require live scan digital fingerprinting for a criminal history background check.

Complete the form below and bring it to Santa Cruz Live Scan to get fingerprinted. The cost of this service will automatically be billed to our account with SC Live Scan, so it’s free to you!

If you wish to get fingerprinted at an alternate location, you will need to pay the fee up front, and Redeemer can reimburse you. Take a picture of your receipt and submit a reimbursement request below.

Step 5: Verification Form

Please fill out this training verification form once you’ve completed all of the steps above.
